Composer of Renowned "Bengawan Solo" Passed Away

Gesang Martohartono, Keroncong music maestro and renowned composer "Bengawan Solo" died yesterday evening at the PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Jakarta, where he was undergoing treatment since May 12 last.

Gesang Martohartono, composer of Bengawan SoloGesang, 92, died at 6:10 pm yesterday, according to team doctor who.

His funeral was to be buried today but have not determined where the flesh will be buried.

The end of January, Gesang underwent prostate surgery at the same hospital.

Gesang was born on Oct 1 1917, known as the famous maestro Keroncong Indonesia in Asia, especially in Japan.

Bengawan Solo Songs has been translated into 13 languages including English, Chinese and Japanese, and was used in a Japanese film.

Songs that tell about the longest river in Java was invented in 1940 at the age of 23 years Gesang and take six months to produce.

Before a songwriter, he is a singer at the festival Keroncong marriage.

Gesang who has no children, lived with his family in SERENGAN, Solo after splitting with his wife in 1962.

In recognition of his honor on the development of music Keroncong, in 1983 the Japanese set up near the Bengawan Solo Gesang Park. Park was financed by the Fund Gesang, an organization established in Japan.

Among the awards received Gesang the Star Award from the Emperor of Japan, Emperor Akihito of Japan in 1992 and the Mark of Honour Star Culture Parama Dharma from the President of Indonesia.

One Year after my 1st posting

Well August 23, 2005 was 8 months after we started off our VoIP company.... Sigh at that moment I was really happy.

New job, new life away from my hometown.... Hopeful, with lotsa dreams for the new company.

Was really busy for the past 1 year 11months. Good start-up. 1 million paid-up capital.

Had a Taiwan investor and a Singapore investor. The Taiwanese was suppose to be our VoIP Back-end provider.

Spent about 60K on renovations. Was all out to hit the market with our so called VoIP backend.

BOY!! Were we wrong!

Now I'm back in my hometown...... with a new job!!!!????

I'll continue next blog on Taiwanese businessmen (some of them, not all)
