Composer of Renowned "Bengawan Solo" Passed Away

Gesang Martohartono, Keroncong music maestro and renowned composer "Bengawan Solo" died yesterday evening at the PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital Jakarta, where he was undergoing treatment since May 12 last.
Gesang Martohartono, composer of Bengawan SoloGesang, 92, died at 6:10 pm yesterday, according to team doctor who.
His funeral was to be buried today but have not determined where the flesh will be buried.
The end of January, Gesang underwent prostate surgery at the same hospital.
Gesang was born on Oct 1 1917, known as the famous maestro Keroncong Indonesia in Asia, especially in Japan.
Bengawan Solo Songs has been translated into 13 languages including English, Chinese and Japanese, and was used in a Japanese film.
